I moved into a 'new' house last summer which I naively thought had mostly cosmetic issues. I decided that I was ok living with a 90's style kitchen and bathroom for awhile so I could take a break from major renovations. I was pretty burnt out from just finishing the renovations on my last home and moving. It became pretty clear in the first couple months of living in my late 1800's victorian twin that it had different plants for me. Here is my main bathroom the day I moved in.
I had noticed that the toilet in my main bathroom was running off and on and rather than paying the money to replace all the parts in the tank since the toilet was very old, I opted to replace it with a newer used toilet I got on my local Buy Nothing group. This was my first mistake. (also take note of the soffit behind the toilet where they ran the water lines above the floor)
There was almost nothing holding the toilet up, the wood was basically a wet sponge around the toilet flange
